Shelley Keneipp - Contributor Story

This section of our blog is dedicated to all homeopathic stories. We'll start with those of how some of our contributors got involved with homeopathy and then add in readers stories of how they are using homeopathy in their lives. If you have a story to share, please email it to us at hello@homeopathyprimer.com.

It was 1986.My daughter was 12 years old and just entering puberty. Her emotions were all over the place and she was struggling. I walked into Santa Monica Drugstore in Santa Monica, California. Little did I know, this was a homeopathic pharmacy founded in 1944. It still exists to this day. It’s “a small family business dedicated to serving the health needs of our community”, as is stated on their website. The owner, a sweet elderly woman, asked if I needed help. I asked her to help me better understand what homeopathy was. I then explained what my daughter was going through. After asking me a ton of questions, she handed me a remedy called Pulsatilla. The changes I saw my daughter go through were astounding. She became balanced, grounded, centered, and happy once again.

Years later, I had an opportunity to take a class from a homeopath who was teaching moms how to use homeopathy for their children. From then on, I used homeopathy for my two daughters and our family. I later decided to become a homeopath and did most of my training with two British Homeopaths, Colin Griffith and the late Martin Miles. After practicing for a while, I wanted to share what I knew and wrote a book, The Parents Guide To Homeopathy: Safe, Natural Remedies For Children From Newborns Through Teens.

Shelley contributed about 50% of the content to this Homeopathy Primer Book. We are incredibly grateful for sharing her expertise and her contributions!
