Contributor Dr Nancy Mazur's Journey into Homeopathy

My first experience of homeopathy happened in 1979, as I was just about to begin my 4 years at Naturopathic College.

I organized a small get together with other new students, so we could get to know one another as we started the journey.

I remember borrowing a pressure cooker and using it to cook a huge pot of spaghetti.

However, I had never used one before, and didn't realize the proper technique, and so managed to explode scalding hot pasta on my face, neck and chest.

Needless to say, it was a painful surprise.

Someone said "Here, give her some Causticum!"

Although I didn't know much about homeopathy at the time, I was more than willing to try anything that might help the pain I was feeling.

And, help it did indeed!  No sooner had those little white pellets hit my tongue than I started to feel a soothing relief from the scalding sensation.

It went on to heal quickly and well after several more doses.

The other consequence of having taken that remedy that night was my newfound determination to learn more about this seemingly miraculous healing modality!

And 45 years later, I am still turning to homeopathic remedies for myself and my many patients who have also benefited over the years from that burning experience.
